15 minutes away Located south of Anse, it is the main witness of medieval life. Renaud de Forez, Archbishop of Lyon, decides to build a military fortress north of Lyon. The circular keep was built in 1213-1214. The curtain walls and the north tower in 1216-1217 and the stately home in 1217-1218. A hoard whose woods date from 1216, classified as a historical monument, is one of the defensive elements. It became residential from the 15th century. The representatives of the Count of Lyon, the mansionaries, provided it with a spiral staircase, galleries, arrow slits and a gatehouse, new living rooms. During the Revolution, it was bought by the municipality, which transformed its large hall into a town hall. It also accommodates the justice of the peace as evidenced by the tympanum of the door of the staircase. The keep and the dwelling were restored in the 1980s, then the north tower and the hourd were in 2008. Today it hosts painting exhibitions and a room, dedicated to archeology, exhibits the mosaic found in the Nineteenth century. Many rooms can be visited today: ceremonial room, hourd, prison, archaeotheque. The terrace allows a beautiful 360° view.
