Old Lyon

Vieux Lyon is the medieval and Renaissance district of Lyon. It is located on the edge of the Saône, at the foot of the hill of Fourvière on the right bank of the Saône.

It is one of the largest neighborhoods concerning this medieval and Renaissance period (along with Venice) which has still remained intact until today. The whole of Old Lyon extends at the bottom of the hill of Fourvière, on thirty hectares, counts five hundred buildings, three thousand residences and seven thousand inhabitants.
